Police looking for man they say raped girl in Woodbridge

According to police, a girl had been sexually assaulted by a man inside a home when a family member discovered what was happening and intervened.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police are asking for the public's help finding a man they say raped a girl in Woodbridge last year.

On Nov. 26, 2023 around 12:30 a.m. officers with Prince William County Police Department responded to a home in the Woodbridge area of Prince William County to investigate a sexual assault.

According to police, a girl had been sexually assaulted by a man inside the home when a family member discovered what was happening and intervened.

The man fled the home.

Detectives determined that the victim and suspect had met on a social media app and arranged to meet at the home.

Investigators identified the suspect as 26-year-old Dimas Alexis Lazo, of College Park, Maryland. They obtained an arrest warrant, but Laz has not yet been located.

Police described Lazo as a Hispanic man who's 5-foot-8, 250 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He's wanted on rape charges.

Anyone with information on Lazo's whereabouts should call the Prince William County Police Department tipline at 703-792-7000 or submit a tip at pwcva.gov/policetip. Police could not provide a photo of Lazo.
