Silent protest held 1 year after death of Bijan Ghaisar

A silent protest was held early Tuesday morning to get answers in the shooting death.

WASHINGTON -- Family and friends gathered outside of the Department Of Justice one year after Bijan Ghaisar's death. He was shot and killed by US Park police on November 17, 2017 and died ten days later.

A silent protest was held early Tuesday morning to get answers in the shooting death. A report released earlier this month by Fairfax County police confirmed that Ghaisar was not armed at the time of the incident and there were no drugs in the vehicle.

The 25-year-old was killed after US Park Police tried pulling him over on GW Parkway. Video from Fairfax County Police showed Park police officers following Ghaisar and the firing their guns.

Police were chasing Ghaisar after he left an accident scene where he was rear-ended.

Family and friends remain upset that federal investigators are refusing to release new information about his death.
