Man injured in stabbing inside Alexandria post office

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A man was found stabbed inside a U.S. Postal Service office in Alexandria early Friday morning, sparking an investigation, according to police.

Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department responded around 2:30 a.m. to Richmond Highway and Frye Road after receiving a report of a stabbing in the area.

Through an initial investigation, police determined that the man who was stabbed got into an argument with another man inside the Richmond Highway post office. The argument escalated into a fight, resulting in the victim being stabbed.

The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries that weren't considered to be life-threatening.

No information about a potential suspect in this incident has been released, including age or name. It is unknown if the two knew each other prior to the argument and stabbing.

The investigation into the case is active and ongoing.
