Police investigate double shooting in Alexandria

​Both victims were taken to an area hospital and are expected to survive.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Police are investigating a double shooting in Alexandria Friday night.

According to the Alexandria Police, officers were called to the 2600 block of Foundry Way around 7:30 p.m. 

When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim has been identified as an adult, the second victim's age is unknown at this time.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital and are expected to survive. 

No suspect descriptions have been released at this time. 

There is no word on a possible motive or what may have happened in the moments leading up to the shooting.

Officers are advising residents that a large police presence in the area.
