ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Men dressed in costumes to appear as a conservative Muslim couple, including a man wearing a traditional Burka, stole more than $110,000 from a Rockville jewelry store on September 15, the FBI said.

But investigators say they believe at least one of the men may actually be Hispanic.

The FBI and Montgomery County police are searching for men in connection with a jewelry store heist at the Van Jewelry Store located at 2202 Viers Mill Road, authorities said. Police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 leading to an arrest.

The investigation shows that the men went into the jewelry store with guns and told the employees to get on their knees.

According to witnesses, one of the men is Hispanic. He was wearing a plaid shirt, dark pants and a white Middle Eastern style hat known as a Kufi, a fake beard and glasses. He is described as a heavy set, however police believe he may have had something under his shirt to make him look stocky.

The second man was covered headed-to-toe in a black robe known as a Burka, according to police. Employees say he was either white or Hispanic.

Police said the two robbers were seen leaving the store and getting into a white older model four door sedan, possibly a Honda or Toyota, with a white paper registration plate.

If anyone knows anything about the robbers or robbery, they are asked to call the FBI Baltimore at 410-265-8080, or Montgomery County Police Department at 301-279-8000. Tipsters could receive a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
