DUMFRIES, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police have arrested a man who they say hit a child with an electrical cord.
Thirty-five-year-old Jerry Anthony Crockett has been charged with malicious wounding and felony child abuse for the February 24 incident.
Police say a neighbor reported that a child was screaming from a nearby house. When police arrived at the home, they found a four-year-old girl who had been hit multiple times with an electrical cord by a known acquaintance, according to officials.
Crockett was taken into custody without incident. Police say the girl suffered non-life threatening injuries.
