DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. — A 42-year-old man was killed and a woman was injured in a double shooting in District Heights, police said. The shooting caused lockdowns at uitland High School and Drew-Freeman Middle School in Prince George’s County.

Authorities said the male victim, 42-year-old Damon Proctor, of Lexington Park, Md., was later pronounced dead. The unidentified female victim was shot in her leg and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a police report.

Investigators said Proctor and three others went to the townhome to continue a domestic dispute that happened at another location earlier in the day. Someone at the townhome fired a weapon during a fight between Proctor and the people at the townhome, police said.

Police have identified the shooter, who was released pending the outcome of the investigation.
