Missing: Police search for Atlanta woman last seen at DC hotel

Sophie Sembajwe, 38, was last seen in Northwest DC on March 4.

WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help to find an Atlanta woman who disappeared while on a trip to D.C. Sophie Sembajwe was last seen on March 4 at the Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel, which is in the 1000 block of H Street Northwest. 

Police describe Sembajwe as about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 175 pounds with black hair in braids and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing an olive green coat, cream colored sweater, black pants and carrying a black purse. 

The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) posted Sembajwe's missing person flyer on its Instagram page, saying she worked for the organization. The post describes her as "a beloved mother, sister, daughter and employee."

Anyone with information that may help in the search for Sembajwe is asked to call police at 202-727-9099, or text the department's tip line at 50411.
