PASADENA, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man was arrested after he shot at police and barricaded himself inside of a home in Pasadena early Sunday, the Anne Arundel County Police Department said.

John Christopher Delich, 38, of Pasadena, Maryland was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder and several related charges, police said.

At approximately 12:55 a.m., police say officers responded to the 900 block of 9th Street for the report of a possible intoxicated person armed with a handgun.

After a search, police say officers located Delich near a garage. He brandished a handgun and began shooting at the officers, police said. Three officers discharged their police issued handguns, striking Delich in the leg, police said.

Delich then barricaded himself inside of the home for about an hour before officers removed him without further incident, police said.

He was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries. Police say officers found a loaded .40 caliber handgun near Delich.

No officers or civilians outside of the suspect were injured during this incident, police said.
