Man shot multiple times, killed in Prince George's County

Through an initial investigation, detectives say they do not believe this crime was random.

BRANDYWINE, Md. — A man was shot multiple times and killed in Brandywine, Maryland late Monday night, sparking a homicide investigation.

Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Brandywine Road, nearby Gibbons Church Road, around 11:50 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting in the area. Once at the location, they found a man inside of a home suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man was then taken to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead a short time after. No additional information has been released about the victim, this includes his name, age, and where he is from -- as police were not able to confirm to WUSA9 if the home he was found in was his.

Through an initial investigation, detectives say they do not believe this crime was random.

Police are working to develop a suspect(s) and a motive in the case. The investigation into the case is active and ongoing.
