Investigators search for answers after man found shot to death in Maryland

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

BOWIE, Md. — A man was found shot to death in a car Thursday afternoon in Bowie, according to police, sparking an investigation into what happened.

Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Saint Michaels Drive, off of Central Avenue, around 3:10 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival at the location, they found a man inside of a vehicle suffering from injuries due to the shooting.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

He was identified Friday as 37-year-old Timothy Jones of Washington, D.C.

No information has been released about a person of interest in the case. The investigation into the deadly shooting remains active and ongoing.
