Man killed at Prince George's County shopping center identified, reward offered

The man shot has been identified as Rashik Jones, 40, of Landover

HYATTSVILLE, Md. — Police in Prince George's County are on the scene of a shooting at a shopping center in Hyattsville Monday afternoon. 

Officers were called to the King Shopping Center in the 7000 block of Martin Luther King Jr Highway for a report of a shooting around 1 p.m.

Once on scene, officers found a man on the ground who had been shot. The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police. The man was later identified as 40-year-old Rashik Jones of Landover. 

Sky9 was over the shopping center Monday and saw several Prince George's County police cruisers in the parking lot of the shopping center and officers searching the area.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. So far, no arrests have been made. The police department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
