ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man currently serving three life sentences for a series of murders in the 1980s has been connected to another murder more than 30 years ago.

On March 25, a Howard County grand jury indicted Vernon Lee Clark, 59, in the murder of 81-year-old Iva Myrtle Watson in 1984 in Ellicott City.

Howard County police say Watson's body was found on December 30, 1984 under some pine trees across the street from her home on Montgomery Road. She was reported missing the day before.

Clark is currently serving multiple life sentences at the Roxbury Correction Institution in Hagerstown for the deaths of 23-year-old Kathleen Patricia Gouldin, 68-year-old Evelyn Dieterich and 70-year-old Rebecca H. "Dolly" Davis. All three deaths occurred in the 1980s.

Police say the new case originated with the Howard County grand jury, and there are no detailed charging documents.
