Fundraiser started for Howard Co. mom of teens killed by father in shooting

Police believe that Christopher Zanski, 42, shot and killed his children, Braden Zanski, 17, and Hailey Zanski, 15, and then shot and killed himself.

GLENELG, Md. — The Howard County community is coming together to help raise money for a mom who lost both of her children in a shooting Sunday night.

Through a preliminary investigation, police believe that her husband Christopher Zanski, 42, shot and killed his children, Braden Zanski, 17, and Hailey Zanski, 15, and then shot and killed himself late Sunday evening. All three lived in a home together.

A GoFundMe to help the teens' mom cover funeral expenses has been started here.

So far, $85,379 has been raised out of the fundraiser's goal of $100,000.

Police say there is no indication that anyone else was involved in the shooting. A motive has not yet been determined.
