Aldi opens up in College Park

The grocery store is set to open on Thursday.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — College Park is getting its very first Aldi.

The grocery store is set to open on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at 8904 62nd Avenue.

Officials say the new location will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. and in addition to in-store service, it will offer curbside pickup and grocery delivery options as well.

The first 100 customers on Thursday will get a gift bag filled with a sampling of ALDI Fan Favorites products and a gift card, of an unknown value, as part of the ALDI Golden Ticket gift card giveaway program. Shoppers can also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 ALDI gift card during the Grand Opening weekend from Dec. 7- 10.

“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we’ve been voted the price leader for six years running,” said Jeff Baehr, Frederick regional vice president for ALDI. “We’re excited to open our first ALDI store in College Park and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.”
