2 boys, dog injured after bullets rip through SE DC home

Police arrested 18-year-old, Robert Brown on Friday.

WASHINGTON — Two boys and a dog were injured when bullets pierced through their Southeast row home early Friday morning.

Police responded to the 900 block of Wahler Place around 12:15 a.m. for the call of gunshots.

Upon arrival, police found two boys suffering from gun shot wounds. According to police, an 11-year-old boy was shot in the leg, and a 15-year-old boy had a graze wound to his hand.

The two boys were taken to a nearby hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators learned that the boys were shot from outside the row home while they were inside, police said. Several bullet holes were found in front of the home, police said.

Police said a dog has also been shot. The dog was taken to a veterinary hospital and is expected to recover.

Police arrested Robert Brown, 18, of Southeast D.C. Friday. He is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

It's unclear what led to the shooting. The incident remains under investigation.
