Toddler found in Southeast DC, guardian located

Police have not shared any additional details

WASHINGTON — Police found a toddler wandering the streets of D.C. on Sunday night. After requesting the public's help to find the boy's family, police said a guardian was located around 8 a.m., police said.

Police say the boy is about 1 or 2 years old, with black hair in short twists and a pierced ear. The boy was found in the 1700 block of S Street Southeast around 11:30 p.m. on April 28. That's near The Living Water Church and Anacostia High School. Police have not offered any additional information about the circumstance surrounding the discovery of the boy.

Anyone who may have information for investigators, including where the boy is from, or who his family is, should contact DC Police at 202-727-9099 or the Youth and Family Services Division at 202-576-6768.
