WASHINGTON — Two pedestrians were hit and killed by a car while standing in a D.C. park late Wednesday night, officials said.
Around 11:40 p.m., emergency crews were called to James Monroe Park located at 21st Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest for a crash with a person trapped in the car.
The pedestrians were killed on the scene. The driver has been taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
No additional information has been released at this time.
