A motorcyclist died after hitting a light pole in the District on Thursday.
Police say 21-year-old Vincent Lucas was traveling fast southbound in the 4600 block of Martin Luther King Avenue in Southwest when he lost control of the motorcycle and hit a light pole.
Lucas was ejected from the motorcycle and came to a rest in the roadway in an unconscious state.
D.C. Fire and EMS responded to the scene and performed CPR on the victim.
He was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead.
