WASHINGTON – Nearly 8 months after a woman was reported missing, DC police have made an arrest in her murder, sources confirmed to WUSA9.
Joni Rockingham went missing the day before Thanksgiving in 2017. Her body was found weeks later in the same Northeast neighborhood she was living in with her mother. Police said she was found in a trash can nearby.
Rockingham was stabbed almost 70 times and that Crowel and Rockingham were lovers, sources told WUSA9.
The family of Rockingham has confirmed that Deon Crowell was arrested in their mother’s death.
