Lyft will drive you to the nearest cooling center for free in DC. Here's the promo code

Lyft, the ridesharing service, is offering free and discounted rides to select local cooling centers in the District.

WASHINGTON — A Red Weather Alert is in effect for the D.C. area for extreme heat over the weekend. The temperatures will be around 100 degrees each afternoon with the heat index 105 to 115 degrees. 

Lyft, the ridesharing service, is offering free and discounted rides to select local cooling centers in the District. This is the promo code: DCACOOL19

The code is only valid for two rides, up to $15. The offer lasts until July 21 at 11:59 p.m.
