Feeling presidential? You can apply to be one of the Racing Presidents for the Nationals

Can you see yourself in a 50-pound suit, racing across Nationals field?

WASHINGTON -- Are you between 5’7” and 6’6”? Can you run in a 50 pound costume? Are you 18 years or older and hold a high school degree or a GED?

And most importantly, are you able to take on the persona of Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Theodore Roosevelt?

If yes, you’re in luck. The application to be a Racing President with the Nationals is now open.

According to the application, the team is looking for new presidents for the 2019 season. Responsibilities will include interacting with fans, taking part in the 7th inning stretch, being available at least 40% of the Nats’ home games and, of course, taking part in the mid-4th President’s Race.

Previous mascot experience is preferred, but not required.

The application is open until December 15 and auditions, which are invite-only, are on January 6.
