WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- One lucky D.C. man is the first winner in the District of the Lucky for Life ticket worth $25,000
The winner will claim his prize Monday morning at the DC Lottery Headquarters. This is the first person to win in the new national jackpot game in the District.
He bought the winning ticket at Mac Market & Deli located at 5158 MacArthur Boulevard in Northwest, D.C. on April 20, DC Lottery said.
The winning numbers were 44-23-45-17=35 and the Lucky Ball was 15. Tickets have been sold in the District for the Lucky for Life game since February 15, 2015 and is being called "The Game of a Lifetime."
Participants get the chance to win $1,000 a day for life as its top prize and a second prize of $25,000 a year for life. Participants have eight other ways to win up to $5,000 with the $2 national lottery game that is played in 14 states and exclusively with the DC Lottery in the metro area.
