Cyclist struck, killed by charter bus in Northeast D.C.

The man fell into the path of the charter bus after one his tires was caught in the street car rail.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) — A man was struck and killed by a charter bus Saturday, June 23, after his bike's tire got caught in a street car rail and he fell into oncoming traffic

Police said 19-year-old Malik Habib was traveling eastbound in the street car lane in the 300 block of H Street, Northeast, when one of his tires was caught in the street car rail, causing him to fall into the path of a charter bus.

According to police, Habib was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
