Suspects wanted for attempting to burglarize DC CVS

Despite finding the ATM damaged, police say it did not appear that any money had been stolen out of it.

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for three possible suspects involved in an early morning burglary of a CVS store in D.C.'s Brookland neighborhood

At 3:15 a.m. Saturday morning, investigators say officers responded to investigate a reported burglary in the 3600 block of 12th Street, NE.

A witness told police they saw the first suspect on security camera forcing their way into the store by backing a white van up and slamming through the building, destroying the security gate and front entrance. A second suspect was then seen joining the first. Both entered the store on 12th Street.

Police say the first suspect was seen messing with an ATM at the location, which was damaged when they backed up into the store.

Officers on scene say the front entrance to the store was heavily damaged as a result of the ordeal as well as the ATM inside. However, investigators say it does not appear any money had been taken out of the ATM

The first suspect in this burglary was seen leaving the CVS store in the white van used during the crime. The second suspect left in a dark colored sedan being driven by a third suspect.

The store and pharmacy closed after the burglary and will remain closed until repairs are completed.

Officials say patients with immediate prescription needs can visit any open CVS Pharmacy for assistance, including the store at 2350 Washington Place, which is less than a mile away.

Anyone with more information is asked to call police.
