Police: 1 dead, another injured in double shooting in Southeast DC

The shooting happened just before 6:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of 14th Street, police say.

WASHINGTON — A man is dead after a double shooting in Southeast, D.C. early Monday morning, according to D.C. Police Department.

The shooting happened just before 6:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of 14th Street after reports of gunshot noise, police said.

Two men were found shot at the location. Police said one of the men was pronounced dead and the other was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The identities of the victims have not been released. Details on what led up to the shooting remain unclear.

WUSA9 was at the scene while detectives were investigating the area. There were a lot of evidence markers on the ground and shell casings left behind.

This shooting remains under investigation.
