A popular restaurant chain is apologizing after an officer says an employee refused to serve her Monday evening.
According to a representative with the International Union Police of Associations, the officer went to the Noodles & Company at 3105 Duke Street at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
As the officer was waiting to place her order, she told her colleagues that a cook walked to the cashier and said, “I’m not cooking for that one.” She also said that the employees laughed and said something she couldn’t hear.
The officer, who does not want to be identified, left the store and reported the incident to her supervisor.
“She was really shaken up by this,” IUPA local 5 Vice President Peter Feltham said.
On Tuesday, Feltham met with a Noodles & Company manager where he said he received an apology.

The manager, who refused to speak with WUSA9, also promised to post signs saying “We Support Blue Lives” on the restaurant doors, according to Feltham.
He also said the manager is investigating the incident and will take disciplinary action against any employees who were involved.
Feltham said he is satisfied that the management is doing all it can to resolve the situation.
