WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A year after the incident, a popular D.C. bar was fined $500 last week for leaving a window open after a drummer passed gas.
The incident happened at Madam's Organ Blues Bar in Adams Morgan last June, according to Borderstan. An inspector from the Alcohol Beverage Regulation Administration saw a band playing "directly in front of one of the establishment's ground floor windows" between 1:30 and 1:33 a.m. on June 22, 2014, according to the report.
The bar's general manager testified during a hearing in April that he had closed the window during the band's break but that the drummer opened the window, according to Borderstan. The bar owner added that the drummer opened it because he had passed gas, and that the window was not open more than five minutes before the inspector saw it.
The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board found that the bar violated a settlement agreement that "doors and windows of the establishment will remain closed from 12:30 a.m. until closing when live music is being played." Madam's Organ has 30 days to pay the fine.
