Man injured in Southwest DC shooting; Police asking for public's help locating suspect's vehicle

The police department says the suspect's vehicle was captured on nearby surveillance cameras.

WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help locating a suspect's vehicle involved in a Southwest D.C. shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1:55 p.m., DC Housing Police officers, as well as officers with the Metropolitan Police Department, were in the area of Canal Street Southwest, nearby O Street Southwest, when they heard gunshots. When they arrived at the location of the shooting they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and he is expected to survive.

The police department says the suspect's vehicle was captured on nearby surveillance cameras, and now they are asking the public's help locating it.

Anyone who can identify this vehicle, or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
