Police search for man who sexually assaulted victim inside a store in NW DC

The suspect was captured by nearby surveillance cameras.

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for a man they say sexually assaulted someone inside a business in Northwest D.C.

On Thursday, April 18, at 8:22 p.m., investigators say the suspect engaged in unwanted sexual contact and assaulted a victim inside a business in the 5500 block of Connecticut Avenue in Northwest. The suspect then fled the scene, but was captured by nearby surveillance cameras.

Anyone who can identify this suspect, or who has knowledge of this assault should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
