Philadelphia mass shooting suspect taken into custody in Alexandria

A fourth suspect wanted in connection to a shooting near a SEPTA bus stop that left eight high school students injured has been taken into custody.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A fourth suspect wanted in connection to a shooting in the Burholme neighborhood of Philadelphia that left eight students injured has been caught in Alexandria.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Task Force located 17-year-old Asir Boone at a woman's apartment Tuesday afternoon. He was taken to the Alexandria Police Department for processing immediately after.

Boone is the fourth suspect to be taken into custody in connection to a shooting on March 6  in which eight Northeast High School students between the ages of 15 and 17 were shot while waiting at a SEPTA bus stop.

The third suspect, 19-year-old Jermahd Carter, was taken into custody in Northeast Philadelphia on Tuesday, March 12. Authorities also arrested 18-year-old Jamaal Tucker, who turned himself in, and 18-year-old Ahnile Buggs in connection to the shooting.

The suspects are charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and other related crimes.

It is unclear at this time when Boone will be extradited back to Philadelphia to face the charges against him.

The Burlhome shooting followed several other shootings in the previous three days, in which someone was killed while riding, entering or leaving a SEPTA bus.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-866-865-8477.
