Multiple inmates stabbed at DC Jail

WASHINGTON — A stabbing that left multiple inmates injured at the Department of Corrections (DOC) Central Detention Facility in D.C. on Sunday morning is under investigation.

At 10:20 a.m., a call regarding the stabbing at the jail came into the Metropolitan Police Department. The stabbing reportedly occurred in the 1900 block of D Street, SE – the location of the DC Department of Corrections.

After arriving at the jail, officers found at least two inmates who had been stabbed. At this point, it is unclear if more people were involved. 

Police say both victims were found conscious and breathing when rushed to an area hospital for help. Their current conditions remain unknown.

The investigation into this stabbing at the D.C. Jail is active and ongoing.

Back in August, a man was arrested for stabbing another man to death at the D.C. jail.

The victim of this stabbing was identified as 34-year-old Darrow Johnson of Clinton, Maryland.

A D.C. man was arrested and charged with assault with intent to kill (knife) in this stabbing.
