Shooting in NE DC home kills two, third man found in street with gunshot wound to leg

A third person - an adult male - was also taken to the hospital with injuries.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after a shooting or multiple shootings in Northeast Washington D.C. on Thursday night that killed two people and sent a third to the hospital.

MPD officials confirmed the bodies of two men were found in the hallway of a house in the Deanwood neighborhood. Originally, police said the deceased were possibly juveniles, but later confirmed they were adults.

A short time later, officials said, a car crashed close by. Someone in the car had been shot in the leg. That person was taken to the hospital.

Police are still trying to figure out if the two events are connected.

The bodies were found in the 4900 block of Nash Street NE in the Deanwood neighborhood.

"We want our detectives to work this case and find out what happened so that we can get the perpetrators of this heinous crime off the streets," D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said from the scene.
