WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help identifying a person they have linked to at least four robberies at Northwest D.C. businesses this month alone.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the first robbery happened on Wednesday, April 3. The suspect reportedly walked into the business on U Street, Northwest, minutes after 5:30 p.m., and jumped over the counter. Police say he pushed an employee at the cash register before stealing money and running away.

A day later, another robbery was reported in Northwest D.C. This time the suspect hit a business in the 900 block of 17th Street, NW. Around 2:45 p.m. the robber jumped over the counter and again pushed a worker away at the cash register. The robber grabbed money from the register before running away.

Less than 24 hours later, a similar robbery attempt was reported at another business on 14th Street, NW. Police say the robber again jumped over the counter and opened the cash register. This time a worker stopped the suspect, who ran away without taking any money.

On Saturday, April 20, the robber struck again, this time in the 1700 block of L Street, NW. Police say the suspect walked into the business shortly after 1:15 p.m. and grabbed money from the register before running away.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at (202) 727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411.
