Police: Suspects wanted for pushing their way into a DC home and stealing a 7-month-old puppy

WASHINGTON — A search is underway for a 7-month-old Pitbull puppy named "Lola" who was stolen from a home in Southeast, D.C. Police are asking for the public's help in locating the dog that was taken during a burglary on New Year's Eve.

On Sunday at 7:25 p.m., police say two suspects knocked on a victim's door in the 100 block of Atlantic Street, Southeast. When that person answered, both suspects pushed their way into the home and assaulted the victim with a stick. The suspects then took the victim's dog and fled the scene. 

The dog, "Lola," is described as a 7-month-old Pitbull puppy. She is black with a white stripe on the top of her head, chest, and stomach. Her owner has included a photo of her below:

Anyone who has more information or knowledge of Lola's whereabouts is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's tip line at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
