WASHINGTON — A man is under arrest after he allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl at a mall in Northwest, D.C. on Tuesday.
At 6:54 p.m., detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department say the suspect assaulted a teenage girl while on the escalators at DC USA Mall in Columbia Heights. The victim quickly reported the crime to police, and responding officers were able to find the suspect and take him into custody without further incident.
The suspect in this sexual assault has been identified as 30-year-old Olban Murillo Bajurito. Police arrested and charged him with misdemeanor sexual abuse for his alleged involvement in the assault on the escalators.
The investigation into this offense is active and ongoing.
