Juvenile taken into custody for allegedly driving a stolen car in Silver Spring

Officers later located the stolen car in the area of Colesville Road and Georgia Avenue.

SILVER SPRING, Md. — A juvenile has been taken into police custody after being caught allegedly driving a stolen car around Silver Spring. 

At 8:12 p.m., officers were notified of a stolen vehicle in the area of Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street.

Officers later located the stolen car in the area of Colesville Road and Georgia Avenue.

Following a brief pursuit, police say a juvenile was taken into custody in the Wayne Avenue parking garage.

The investigation into this alleged carjacking is active and ongoing.
