SILVER SPRING, Md. — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Randolph Road and Kimblewick Drive on Friday night at 10:12 p.m. Montgomery County Fire and EMS responded to the area for reports of a hit-and-run collision between two vehicles and a pedestrian.

During a preliminary investigation, detectives learned that the driver of a Honda Odyssey was traveling westbound on Randolph Road when, for reasons unknown at this time, it jumped the curb hitting a man.

The man, identified as 52-year-old Ronaldo Franzese, fell into the road as a result. Franzese was then struck by a 4-door Acura. The driver of the Acura fled the scene without rendering aid to Franzese.

The driver of the Odyssey remained on scene and cooperated with police in their investigation.

Police are now searching for a white 2009-2012 Acura TL with a missing fender line. The car is believed to have additional damage to the front end.
