Woman sexually abused in Northwest DC; Police searching for man responsible

The assault happened in the area of Whitehaven Parkway Northwest, off of Wisconsin Avenue Northwest.

WASHINGTON — A woman was sexually assaulted in Northwest D.C. on March 30, and now police are asking for the public's help identifying the man accused of the crime.

The Metropolitan Police Department said that the man pushed the woman to the ground and assaulted her in a sexual way around 4:35 p.m. on that Saturday. This happened in the area of Whitehaven Parkway Northwest, off of Wisconsin Avenue Northwest.

The man then fled the area, but he was captured on a surveillance camera. The police department released the photos to the public on Sunday, April 7 in hopes of locating the person responsible.

Anyone who can identify this suspect or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
