2 shootings leave 3 women wounded across DC

One shooting happened near 1500 N. Capitol Street, Northwest and the other in the 2400 block of Elvans Road SE.

WASHINGTON — Three women were shot across DC Monday in two separate shootings. 

The first shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. near 1500 N. Capitol Street, Northwest. Both women were conscious and breathing. Police said they are looking for a shooter. 

One woman was taken to an area hospital and the other woman took herself to the hospital, DC Police said.

Police are looking for a man who was wearing a black sweater with white writing, black jeans, armed with a handgun and last seen traveling in a white SUV, with Maryland Chesapeake Bay tags.

The second shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of Elvans Road SE. 

Police said an adult female was shot in the lower body. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
