Alexandria Police investigating after aggravated assault leaves person dead

Police found the victim inside of their home suffering from injuries.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — An investigation is underway in Alexandria after a person died after an assault early Monday.

Officers with the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 900 block North Henry Street, nearby The Bloom at Braddock Apartments, just after 3:25 a.m. after a report of an aggravated assault. Upon arrival they found a person inside his home suffering from injuries.

The person was then taken to a hospital for treatment, but later died. No information has been released about the identity of the victim, this includes his name and age.

Police are working to determine what led up to the deadly assault as well as any information on a person of interest in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call 703-946-4444.
