ZLINE consumers advised to not use their gas stoves

In the letter, ZLINE says “it has come to our attention that some of the repairs were not performed correctly."

WASHINGTON — Attention ZLINE stove owners, the company is expanding consumer options in its recall of gas range stoves just two days before Thanksgiving.

The ranges included in the recall are:

  • RG30
  • RGS-30
  • RGB-30
  • RG36
  • RGS-36
  • RGB-36
  • RG48
  • RGS-48
  • RGB-48

The ranges were sold in various colors with multiple finishes and in three different sizes:

  • 30-inches
  • 36-inches
  • 48-inches

The company issued a statement saying they received 44 reports of carbon monoxide emissions, three of which revealed consumers had to seek medical attention. ZLINE issued a recall in January after reports came in.

Initially the company was offering to repair the damaged ranges. Now, customers can request either a replacement or a full refund. ZLINE sent an update regarding the recall on Tuesday to people who received the repairs at the beginning of the year.

In the letter, ZLINE says “It has come to our attention that some of the repairs were not performed correctly and did not prevent dangerous levels of carbon monoxide from being emitted from the oven.”

ZLINE is offering a free carbon monoxide detector with installation, in addition to the follow-up inspection. Those customers will also be given the option to replace their current range or receive a pro-rated refund based on the age of the range.

Officials say the timing of this issue is incredibly inconvenient, with Thanksgiving just two days away.
