WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Looking for a new furry friend? Local animal shelters are offering "Black Fur Day" deals on Black Friday.

You can adopt a black animal from the Washington Humane Society for just $10 on Nov. 28 and 29. Black animals include those with black spots, stripes or patches. All other animals will be 50% off the regular adoption fees of $170 for dogs, $85 for cats, and $10 to $45 for small animals and birds.

All pets adopted from WHS go home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. A $15 D.C. dog license fee is required for dogs adopted by D.C. residents.

You can see the animals up for adoption online here.

On Nov. 28, the Fairfax County Animal Shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and adoption fees for black dogs, cats and small animals will be waived.

The shelter does same-day adoptions and staff and volunteers will be on hand to help visitors meet and greet available pets.
