WASHINGTON — It's National Taco Day and restaurants are going off the handle with deals and discounts.
Here are 10 places in the DMV to grab discounted or free tacos.
1. California Tortilla
This Maryland-based chain restaurant is letting you get a free taco with any purchase if you say “TACO-BERFEST” to the cashier.
2. Taco Bell
It’s obvious that the most famous fast-food taco place would have some great deals lined up.
Show up Friday to grab a $5 gift set that includes two crunchy tacos and two Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos.
If you’re feeling generous, you can fill out a form on their website to send your friends a digital gift card they can use towards their tacos.
3. Chuy’s
Located in various parts of Maryland and Virginia, Chuy’s is offering its customers a crispy beef taco added to any entree order for just $1, but with a limit of two per person.

4. Burger King
Apparently Burger King sells tacos now? While the tacos are not free, they’re sold for cheap rate of $1 a taco.
5. On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina
For only $8.99, this taco fortress is celebrating the holiday with endless tacos. If you have a bottomless pit of a stomach, this is the place for you to fill your taco craving.
6. Agua 301
This restaurant in Southeast D.C. having an all-day taco-fest with $3 tacos. This special opens at 11 a.m. until the restaurant closes at 11 p.m.
7. El Centro D.F.
Have a taco craving that you can’t beat? Then you should enter El Centro’s Taco contest that could make you eligible for free tacos for a year.
All you have to do is vote for your favorite Taco Loco on their website, and you’ll be entered into the drawing.
8. Fish Taco
Located in various Maryland locations, Fish Taco, who prides themselves in having foods influenced by “traditional flavors,” is selling four tacos for $10. You can wash it down with a cold margarita!
9. Baja Fresh
A Tex Mex chain, Baja Fresh is offering its customers a buy one, get one free taco offer. Be sure to visit their Instagram or Facebook page to redeem the bar code necessary for this deal.
10. MXDC Cocina Mexicana
Straight from celebrity chef Todd English’s kitchen, you can wolf down two tacos of your choice for $7, choosing from meats like the classic carne asada to an unconventional mahi mahi. This special lasts all day.
