2024 Cherry Blossom Celebrations announced

If you want to enjoy Cherry Blossom related activities in other parts of the DMV you have many to choose from.

WASHINGTON — The National Harbor is preparing to celebrate the 2024 cherry blossom season, festivities will run from March 20 to April 14.

Sakura Sunday Festival: 

The annual Sakura Sunday festival will be held at the National Harbor on Sunday, March 24 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be free cultural activities including Japanese-inspired art, music, dance, culinary delights, and a Japanese market. 

If you want to enjoy cherry blossom-related activities in other parts of the DMV you have many to choose from. 

The 2024 ANA National Cherry Blossom Festival Sweepstakes:

All Nippon Airways (ANA) wants to connect people and cultures. This year they’re offering a free round-trip to Japan. One person will be chosen at random and receive a pair of economy class round-trip tickets to Tokyo. The sweepstakes will run from February 13 through March 29, to enter click here. 

Mosaic District Art Blooms:

The Mosaic District in Virginia will host a two-day festival to welcome Spring and the Cherry Blossoms. On Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 Mosaic District will partner with URBNMarket and FreshFarm to host over 90 handmade and vintage vendors, special performances, Arts and Crafts vendors, a farmers market and so much more. 

Credit Union Cherry Blossom 5K & 10 Miles Run 

Entries for this event have closed, but it is free for anyone who wishes to watch the race. Participants will run a course through prime blossom locations in D.C. 

For art lovers who want to embrace the meaning of the Cherry Blossom tree, this year’s official Cherry Blossom Artist has been announced. Nicolas Shi debuted his “Fleeing Beauty” painting. The artwork captures the essence of cherry blossoms against the iconic backdrop of Washington DC’s monuments and a sneak peek of the beautiful Tidal Basin.
