WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A documentary about the beloved actor and comedian Chris Farley, who died in 1997 from a drug overdose at the age of 33, is set to open in theaters on July 31.
BuzzFeed posted the first trailer for "I Am Chris Farley" on Monday.
The documentary tracks Farley's life from his childhood in Wisconsin to Hollywood through home videos, performance footage and interviews with his family and friends, including David Spade who co-starred in "Tommy Boy" and "Black Sheep."
Earlier this year, Variety reported that Virgil Films had acquired the film and that it would debut on Spike on August 10.
The documentary will also be available on VOD, digital download, and DVD on August 11, reports BuzzFeed.
