WASHINGTON — Fall festivities have kicked off so why not find the right outdoor activity to enjoy this weekend?

Fall carnival season is here and why not have some fun at the Fall Carnival in Herndon. Stroll around the area or enjoy classic carnival rides, all while being able to see cute farm animals.
Saturday, October 19


When: 12-2:30 p.m.
Where: The National Arboretum
If you have missed the past concert series available at the National Arboretum, this weekend is the perfect chance to check out The Shmoods, formerly known as the DMV Hip-Hop Orchestra. Bring a blanket or chair to enjoy the music, beautiful fall air and amazing arboretum scenery.


When: 6 p.m.
Where: Reston Town Center
The third annual Runway to the Cure fashion show is this weekend. Help the fight against breast cancer while watching survivors strut down the runway in the latest fashion. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. In addition, a $25 donation is suggested.


When: 12-5 p.m.
Where: 105 N. Union St. Alexandria, VA
Bring the family out to the Torpedo Factory Art Center for their 24th annual Art Safari. Enjoy a variety of hands-on activities and art projects all around the building.


When: 4-8 p.m.
Where: THEARC Theater
Find your fall spirit at the Taste of the Harvest festival. Participate in fall activities that include garlic planting, s'mores roasting and other cooking demonstrations. In addition, enjoy live performances, including a performance from the Washington Ballet.

Where: The Arts Walk Brookland
Come out and support local artists at the second annual Brookland Exchange! Over forty local makers and artists collectors will be at the Arts Walk in Brookland to present their amazing artwork!


When: 1-4 p.m.
Where: Arcadia's Hilltop Farm
The fall season is officially here and the 2019 Fall Funtacular is here to bring on the fun! Enjoy all of the traditional fall activities that include a hayride, relay races and more. Also, participate in other fun educational activities like learning about compost and bees.
