Stars of 'RuPaul’s Drag Race' seen on National Mall

Eight queens were seen on the National Mall seeing what the District has to offer.

WASHINGTON — Category is?... “You Betta Werk and VOTE!”

The cast of the upcoming ninth season of "RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars" were spotted in the nation’s capital on Monday.

The competing queens who were spotted in D.C. include Roxxxy Andrews (Season 5, All Stars 2), Gottmik (Season 13), Angeria Paris VanMichaels (Season 14), Jorgeous (Season 14), Nina West (Season 11), Plastique Tiara (Season 11), Shannel (Season 1, All Stars 1) and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo (Season 10, Season 11).

The group was seen walking around and taking photos in front of famous D.C. landmarks including the National Mall, the Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool and the White House in promotion of the upcoming season of the popular reality competition series.

In addition to promoting the new season, the queens took to the White House to send a message to fans and people all over the nation saying: “You Betta VOTE!”

In a post on Instagram, Season 1 and All Stars Alum Shannel posted a video of herself joined by her fellow queens this season outside of the White House saying, “Let your voice be heard 🗣️🇺🇸 VOTE.VOTE.VOTE.”

Fans of the Emmy Award-winning reality competition are familiar with the message that RuPaul and her competing queens try to send every election year – urging viewers to register and get out to the polls to make sure their votes count and their voices are heard.

This season and election year are no different with numerous states proposing and passing legislation targeting drag performers, transgender rights and various other issues regarding the LGBTQ+ community.

This season of All Stars will be different from previous seasons. As usual, queens will compete for the crown – a coveted spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame and a year of Anestasia Beverly Hills cosmetics. But rather than the queens competing for the cash prize of $200,000 for themselves, they’ll be competing to win the money for the charity of their choice.

You can see this season’s queen “bring it to the runway” in all new episodes of "RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars" and 'Untucked: RuPaul's Drag Race,' beginning on May 17 with episodes streaming on Paramount+.
