Fredericksburg's Huntley revealed as winner of 'The Voice' in finale

The winner of the competition show receives $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A confetti-filled congratulations honored Fredericksburg's own on the national stage of The Voice Tuesday night.

From a four-chair turn to winning the competitive singing competition, 33-year-old Huntley, who is popularly known by the singular name, but also Michael Huntley, has been crowned the winner of Season 24 for the show. In October, he joined Team Niall after his 6-year-old daughter Stella made the life-changing decision.

This win marked the second season in a row that Niall has won as a coach on the show.

The two-hour finale was filled with music which included guests such as Tyla performing "Truth or Dare" and "Water", AJR hitting the stage with "Bang!" and "Yes I'm A Mess", Season 25 coaches for the show Dan + Shay performing "Bigger House", and Earth, Wind & Fire singing a melody of their hits. But before that -- the contestants and the judges hit the stage -- this included Huntley and Niall Horan singing "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan.

The finale was aired in two parts over two days -- with Monday showing the final five contestants performing two songs. For Huntley, he hit the stage with "Higher" by Creed and "Another Love" by Tom Odell. The rocker with the distinctly raspy voice and growl has performed songs such as "With a Little Help From My Friends", David Kushner's "Daylight", and "Way Down We Go" by KALEO throughout the season.

On Tuesday night, Huntley stood beside the other contestants in the final five, waiting for his fate. When asked what he would take away from his experience and working with his couch he stated, "I would say, you know, taking time and telling the story about the song. Also he's shown me that I can be myself in this industry. That I can be my goofy, Huntley-self."

The last five standing included Huntley, Jacquie Roar, Ruby Leigh, Mara Justine, and Lila Forde. Carson Daly the host of the show, announced who was in 5th, 4th, and then 3rd place until only Huntley and Leigh were left on the stage. Before announcing the winner of the show, Niall gave words of hope to his last-standing singer in the competition.

"Huntley, my man, it's been an absolute pleasure -- since day one. We all spun around. We couldn't wait to turn around and see you. Meeting your daughter, Stella, her picking me. I don't know if you would," Niall chuckled. "But she did. And we became a great partnership the two of us and we have had a great laugh along the way, we picked some great songs, you have had some magic moments, and your levels of consistency on this show, actually the two of you. The levels of consistency on this show between the two of you has been ridiculous and you both deserve to be standing up there right now. And Huntley, win or lose -- we are going for a beer."

And then, just like that, the Virginia singer was announced the winner!

After the win, Huntley proudly held his trophy, posed for photos with his coach, and even had a 'happy dance' on the stage on the confetti that just moments before fell onto his face to congratulate him.

The winner of the competition show receives $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group.
