Matt is a Maryland-native who is excited to be working back in the area. He joined the WUSA9 team in March of 2018
He is a graduate of the University of Maryland. That makes him a big Terps fan and longtime Terps’ sports sufferer.
His career started as a sports intern at WBAL-TV in Baltimore. Eventually he produced sportscasts several nights a week.
Matt got his first reporter job at WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, IN. That job gave him a well-rounded view of news because he did just about every job. He anchored, reported, anchored sports, and even filled in as a weatherman.
After that he worked at WAVY-TV in Norfolk, Va. During his time there he covered the 2016 Presidential Campaign, investigated a massive Jet fuel leak from a Navy base, and followed the transformation of public housing in Hampton Roads.
He is originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. When he is not at work, he is probably reading an obscure history book.
